The Prank

Personally, I don't think it happened this way. Remus is really surprisingly lenient regarding his friends' idiocy, all things considered and if you remember that part in the book when he was telling Harry and the rest about the Prank, you would realize that he doesn't sound like he was bearing anyone any grudges. Which doesn't rule out the fact that Sirius must have grovelled like mad to get Remus not to deck him, but yeah.

The background is actually supposed to be reddish. But the scanner failed to get it.

edit: I just realized how incredibly short Remus is. He's just a bit shorter than Sirius, in my opinion, so let's just say he's still a growing boy here at fifteen.

Yeah, this is always really interesting to think about. Personally, I think the prank was exactly what it seemed: a worst case scenario example of Sirius' ability to be vengeful and reckless. I don't think that in the moment he told Snape he was even considering what a massive betrayal it was to Remus, he was just trying to win, any means necessary, and took it way too far. Then of course it would hit him afterward what he did to Remus, because Sirius isn't ignorant, and I have to believe that he did feel sorry for betraying him. While Sirius is very flawed, I don't believe he was just a complete shit friend who didn't care. So, I think he felt bad for what he did to Remus, but not what he did to Snape, if that makes sense. Hence, in PoA, he says that Snape deserved it. [It's also worth considering that Sirius wasn't exactly mentally stable during that part of the book.] So I'm sure it did create a rift in his friendship with Remus, and I go back and forth on how much Sirius would have showed remorse for his actions, but of course eventually Remus did forgive him, because the Marauders were pretty much everything to him. [And in my mind because he's in love with Sirius, but I'm trying to keep this analysis canon. :b]

That's my take on it, anyway, but who knows? While part of me would love a series based on the Marauder-era, part of me wouldn't, because I'd be sad if J.K. Rowling crushed any possibility of R/S being canon. ^^; I drank the kool-aid on this pairing so hard that I actually half forget it isn't canon sometimes, lol.

Also, my bad about this completely pointless rambling, and I love the picture, as I love all of your R/S art. <3
